The Arizona Healthcare Workplace Violence Coalition is an independent Arizona nonprofit dedicated to improving healthcare worker safety through collaboration, education, research, advocacy, and systems improvement. As a statewide convener, we bring partners together to share knowledge, strengthen relationships, and advance evidence-informed strategies that prevent workplace violence.

What We Are — and What We Are Not
AHWVC is a collaborative learning network that connects people, organizations, ideas, and resources to strengthen healthcare worker safety.
We are not a labor union or an effort to organize one. We do not provide legal advice or representation, initiate or encourage individual lawsuits, conduct independent investigations, or provide direct operational response services. When legal, regulatory, employment, or law-enforcement issues arise, our role is to support education, collaboration, and awareness of appropriate resources—not to replace the professionals or organizations responsible for those functions.

No single organization, profession, or discipline can solve healthcare workplace violence alone. The Coalition’s Working Groups bring together professionals from healthcare, public safety, education, research, government, law, security, operations, and community organizations to share expertise, strengthen partnerships, and advance practical, evidence-informed solutions.
Working Group participation provides an opportunity to contribute to statewide initiatives while learning from others who share a commitment to healthcare worker safety.

What Success Looks Like
The Arizona Healthcare Workplace Violence Coalition is more than an organization—it is a growing network of professionals, healthcare organizations, educators, researchers, public safety partners, government agencies, policymakers, and community members working together toward a common goal. Every conversation, partnership, educational resource, research initiative, and shared lesson helps strengthen workplace violence prevention throughout Arizona. Many of the initiatives below are currently under development and will become active as our community grows. The future of this Coalition depends on all of us.
